Fix it Herself: No Ordinary Bulbs

From time to time, my humans rely on me to maintain our home.  I can be counted on to discover ideal napping spots, and to promptly clean up crumbs.  These are valuable contributions to my household.  This week I strapped on my toolbelt to help my human change some light bulbs.


Once we got the dome off the light fixture without dropping or breaking it, we realized that these were no ordinary light bulbs.  We either needed an adapter for the screw in bulbs we had around the house, or special bulbs with prong attachments.  When home improvement for busy people needs supplies, we order things online and they appear within forty-eight hours, even on Sundays.  How is this possible?  Luckily for my humans, I'm always prepared.

We have to brag about our human a little. She remembers to feed us, saves lots of animals, and usually has lots of common sense. When she’s well fed. We learned tonight that when her blood sugar is low, she does not make wise choices (this paragraph refusing to 'justify' was not one of them). We ran out to the car, zig-zagging on our leashes. Bark of the Neighborhood

"Is Maya missing?" Claire, Sky Blue the Aussie's human asked over the Ring camera speaker. Looking down at Maya, glued to her calf, Melissa said "No, she's right here." Suddenly remembering that the neighbor's pest control company had accidentally come to our house instead, our human ran out to the backyard. The side gate was open!  The next morning on our walk, we got the lowdown.   Who, me? "You were right! After you left, I found an open side gate! The wrong pest control company sprayed our backyard yesterday." Melissa reported to Claire.  "Georgia found her, and she wouldn't go home, but followed her to my house! We couldn't catch her." Another Great Escape

For my latest in human entertaining, I've refrained from escaping from our backyard. They like to recount my numerous adventures jumping through windows, climbing fences, shimmying through the drain, and disappearing when it's most inconvenient (for example on moving day ... my human had to go back to our old house to find me).  very funny Yesterday Nacho created a diversion by pooping in the living room (he gets very excited at walk time and there are mere seconds to get him outdoors to go ... he's ancient like me). When my mom tried to toss the bag onto the front porch, I saw my opportunity and made a break for it, then casually sauntered down the front steps with my leash trailing behind me. reenactment  I may have taught them a little too well, because I was calmly followed to the sidewalk and my leash stepped on to halt me.
